Publisher's Summary

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is caught up in the murky world of human trafficking in Dead Tomorrow, by award winning crime writer Peter James.

The body of a missing boy is dredged from the seabed off the Sussex coast, missing vital organs. Soon after, two more bodies are found...

A teenager in Brighton will die if she does not receive an urgent transplant. When the health system threatens to let her down her mother takes drastic action and goes to an online broker in black-market organs. The broker can provide what she wants, but it will come at a price.

As Roy Grace investigates the recovered bodies, he unearths a gang of child traffickers operating from Eastern Europe. Soon Grace and his team will find themselves in a race against time to save the life of a young street kid, while a desperate mother will stop at nothing to save her daughter's life...

Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Dead Tomorrow is the fifth thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead Like You and Dead Man's Grip.

Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Skipped in a few places but a good story

I like that the characters are consistent in their values and behaviour from book to book and that the day to day admin and politics and leadership actions of Grace are shown as well as the teamwork. This story kept me hooked although some parts were overlong and some excessively violent so I did skip through here and there. By now I don't really care about Sandy but I guess it will all come out eventually. I hope the supernatural elements still get a look in from the to time.

Gripping - a bit disturbing!

The various elements of the story are all interesting and compelling - especially having come through the series where you have some knowledge of the central characters.
The trafficking issue was fairly confronting and dealt with in a way that had you involved and sympathetic and outraged all at once!

A little slow

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I listne to the audiobooks when I am working in the garden or exercising. If I have been reading this book, I probably would have given up about halfway through.

If you’ve listened to books by Peter James before, how does this one compare?

I have liked the first 4 books in the Roy Grace series and this one ended well but I found it quite slow to get going. He seems to fill out his books with alot of detail that is not really necessaary and can get a bit tedious. He also has an annoying habbit of leaving loose ends which presumably are to draw you in to the next book buy whcih frustratingly are not often resolved in the next book.
This one got better halfway through and had a more exciting ending.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

No. Books are always better than films.
