Publisher's Summary

Once upon a time, not so long ago, a monster came to the small town of Castle Rock, Maine.... He was not a werewolf, a vampire, a ghoul, or an unnameable creature from the enchanted forest or snow wastes; he was only a cop....

Cujo is a huge Saint Bernard dog, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. Then one day Cujo chases a rabbit into a bolt-hole. Except it isn't a rabbit warren anymore. It is a cave inhabited by rabid bats. And Cujo falls sick. Very sick. And the gentle giant who once protected the family becomes a vortex of horror inexorably drawing in all the people around him....

Decent King story

Pretty decent Stephen King but I found the narrator to be very shrill and cringed on several occasions.

great story, not so great reader.

not the readers fault, it just wasn't a good fit. There are a lot of child PoV characters and the way she voiced them really grated on me. a good reminder to check the sample before I buy to make sure I can deal with the readers voice for multiple hours.

Good book but the narrator is awful at kids voices

Every time the narrator reads a kids line I couldn’t help cringe and want to turn off the book

Great story

Just a very typical King story, suspenseful and gripping. People seem to think the narrator did a poor job narrating but I thought there was nothing wrong.

A must for fans of Stephen King.

One of Stephen King's best. The narrator did an excellent job with character voices. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Classic King - never gets old

A Stephen King classic which has not dated at all. A harrowing story. I was terrified of the dog but I pitied the dog - the story from Cujo’s perspective wrenched my heart. I love how King is able to blend horror with intimate studies of the psychology of his characters. You can see how, many years later, this style led to such dizzying heights of genius as 11.22.63.

Good story, don't like narration

The way the lady did Tad's voice when he was upset was really annoying.
