When an Armani-clad corpse turns up in the woods, crime reporter Nichelle Clarke smells a scoop. A little digging, and Nichelle uncovers a web of corruption that stretches all the way to Washington, D.C. Politics. Murder. And a dead lobbyist. It's everything Nichelle's ever dreamed of. The cops are playing it close, the feds even closer, and Nichelle's afraid her boss will assign the story to the political desk any day. Richmond's new ATF Super Cop makes an arrest before she can say "Louboutin," but Nichelle's gut says he's got the wrong guy. Her sexy Mafia boss friend warns her off the case, her TV rival is hot on her designer heels, an ambitious copy editor wants her beat, and victims are piling up faster than she can track them down. As Nichelle zeroes in on the truth, it’ll take some fancy footwork to nab this headline before the killer nabs her.

"Holy Headlines Lois!"
This is such an awesome book. A young female reporter for a Virginia newspaper, Nichelle is super smart, and I'm sure quite beautiful. She has a cute little dog at home which made me instantly like her. Nece has contacts out the kazoo and a straight forward style that makes the reader respect her and care about her. More of this series please! I want to listen to them all!
I adore these books! The narrator is great and easy to listen to and the stories have a very good plot and just enough twist. Really great listen!
"Love this series!"
I've read all 4 of the books and liked them so much, I got the Audible versions also -so I could listen in the car. Can't wait for a new one.
For the first.part of the narration it sounded like the narrator had a stuffy nose. And I HATE the f word in books. To me it means the author had limited imagination and is filling the page up with swear words. Disappointing.
"Disappointing story, superb narration"
The narration was wonderful! It was the only reason that I continued to read. The story was insignificant and vague. This was not a book that I would read over a weekend because I couldn't put it down. I just wanted the boredom to end. I don't think that the reasons for the initial murder was developed and had robe explained at the end.
