Publisher's Summary

The sleepy town of Heartsdale, Georgia, is jolted into panic when Sara Linton, paediatrician and medical examiner, finds Sibyl Adams dead in the local diner. As well as being viciously raped, Sibyl has been cut: two deep knife wounds form a lethal cross over her stomach. But it's only once Sara starts to perform the post-mortem that the full extent of the killer's brutality becomes clear. Police chief Jeffrey Tolliver - Sara's ex-husband - is in charge of the investigation, and when a second victim is found, crucified, only a few days later, both Jeffrey and Sara have to face the fact that Sibyl's murder wasn't a one-off attack. What they're dealing with is a seasoned sexual predator. A violent serial killer.

It dragged on and on

11 hours of drag.
Was not as fast pace as Karens previous books.
Took a long time to reach a conclusion and even then it was fairly predictable. Would not rate as one of her better books

What the!!

I couldn't deal with hearing this book. Gave up after a couple of chapters. simply could not stand to hear or understand the narrator. Complete waste of money if your not from that part of America. Want my money back!!!!

good story, sucky narrator

overall a great story, well written but I personally didn't care for the narrator. her tone and voice changed multiple times for the same character. quiet infuriating. along with pronouncing the same words 3 or 4 different ways.

Great story! Suspenseful, Grafic and Gory. Love it

I loved how well written this story is. I did find it a little predictable. But it was very suspenseful, Grafic and kept my attention. The narrator was a little hard to get used to at first, but I blocked out the annoying tone and focused on the story and that got me through.

Very entertaining

Very great story! Quite confronting at times as they all are. If you love a good nail biter... Enjoy!
