Story
Seven Bones is the story of one of the more bizarre murder investigations in Australia’s history. Two wives die in suspicious circumstances: co-incidence or, as husband Thomas Keir describes it, ‘bad luck’? Three years after Thomas Keir alleged his first wife, Jean, deserted him and her young son for another man, his second wife, Rosalina, Jean’s cousin, lay scorched and strangled on her bed. Arriving on the scene, Detective Peter Seymour realised he was either dealing with the world’s unluckiest husband or a serial wife killer.

Story
Cold Case Investigations covers mostly murders or suspected murders - such as Ashley Coulston, Mr Cruel and Ivan Milat - with the victims as the focus. Not only because, criminologically speaking, the more you can learn about your victim the more you can extrapolate about the person who killed or abducted them, but also because they deserve their stories to be told. They deserve for people to know their names. They shouldn't just be someone's victim.

Story
This gang of serial killers did unthinkable crimes. It's hard to believe that their story is not a work of fiction. But it's not! Most serial killers work alone. Killing is usually a private crime, something that mass murderers are keen to keep hidden. But this is not always the case. During the 1990s, a small town in Australia witnessed first-hand how devastating, horrendous, and effective a gang of serial killers could be.

Story
In Bowraville, all three of the victims were Aboriginal. All three were killed within five months, between 1990 and 1991. The same white man was linked to each, but nobody was convicted. More than two decades later, homicide detective Gary Jubelin contacted Dan Box, asking him to pursue this serial killing. At that time, few others in the justice system seemed to know - or care - about the murders in Bowraville.

Editorial reviews
Kate Hood delivers a rousing performance of And Then the Darkness a nonfiction book by Sue Williams. Peter Falconio and Joanne Lees, an English couple, set off for an adventure in the Australian Outback. Joanne was later found wandering by a highway with her hands bound and tape in her hair. She told police that a stranger had shot Peter and tied her up, but she had managed to escape. A massive manhunt ensued, but soon the media began to question both the authorities and Joanne. Was she telling the truth? Who was the stranger? Would justice ever be served?
Publisher's Summary
Award-winning journalist and columnist Sue Williams delves into the saga as it unfolds, finding a policeman willing to risk everything to crack the case, a journalist hell-bent on proving Joanne a liar, endless conspiracy theories, countless devastated lives in both Britain and Australia, and, ultimately, an explosive finale.
Critic Reviews
" skillfully woven recreation of events reads so much like a seriously creepy novel, it well may have you swearing off outback holidays forever. All the detail and facts, however, have been accrued from some serious journalistic digging, and it's the density of detail, along with its ominous atmosphere, that is the true gold." (Australian Women's Weekly)
"Like good crime fiction, And Then the Darkness presents us with clearly drawn characters and a satisfying denouement." (The Age)

Good story and well researched. I wasn't convinced by the narrator. Too many attempts at different accents but overall not a bad book. Worth a try if anyone like Australian True Crime.

Read well but not very factual
This story is obviously written by someone who has never been in central Australia and has no idea of the actual goings on in Australia, so heavily biased to show Joanne as some kind of angel….. Definitely won’t be recommended by me to anyone.
