A sparkling collection of 22 classic episodes of the ever-popular BBC Radio 4 panel game chaired by Nicholas Parsons. Showcasing five key players from the past five decades - Sheila Hancock, Gyles Brandreth, Jenny Eclair, Stephen Fry ,and Graham Norton - the collection also includes two bonus Christmas themed editions of the show.
Loved for the verbal dexterity, wicked wit and competitive edge of its participants, Just a Minute has welcomed scores of guest players to the game since it began in 1967. Among the most successful and popular of those are Sheila Hancock, Gyles Brandreth, Jenny Eclair, Stephen Fry, and Graham Norton. This audiobook presents four specially selected episodes for each of them, all published for the first time, all highlighting the players at their cleverest and funniest.
With episodes taken from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, there is strong participation from some of the more regular players of the game: Clement Freud, Kenneth Williams, Derek Nimmo, Peter Jones, and Paul Merton. Others playing here include Tony Hawks, Linda Smith, Julian Clary, Ross Noble, Tim Rice, William Rushton, Martin Jarvis, and many more. As always, Nicholas Parsons is the capable chairman of the game.

"A great way to relax"
The episodes are a great way to relax. You can dive in and out of them at your leisure, picking them up when and where you like.
"THis is also known as FURTHER classic collection."
I had this book already but they changed the title by one word so I thought it was new. Returning this now.
"THE collection to get!"
This is one of two ten hour plus J.A.M. collections - I wish they'd release some more, perhaps collecting the one hour downloads together.
This is so good, I listen to it EVERY night. Love it so much.
Part of my need-them-to-live collection (also, see Goon Shows).
Everything you need!
"Review with no repetition, deviation, hesitation"
This audio book was found to be funny, I wasn't as keen on some of the earlier recordings but the more recent episodes had us suitably entertained for hours. Particularly listening whilst driving kept me chuckling. Contestants like Paul Merton, Graham Norton, Jenny Eclair, Tony Hawks and Stephen Fry made a positive review easier to write because they made my friends smile while listening. Further Just a Minute books will be purchased in due course. It's the kind of publication that can be re-listened to over and again without boredom settling in.
"A great one for Just A Minute fans."
A fantastic mix of both classic and modern episodes, makes this a definite must for fans of Just a minute.
"A good range of fine performances"
The sound quality is a bit ropey on some of the earlier recordings but this is a real bumper pack of entertaining episodes.
"Wonderful, witty wordplay."
A laugh a minute - no pun intended. A joy to listen to the wonderfully funny Paul Merton, Kenneth Williams and Sheila Hancock.
Sorry I Haven't Got A Clue
One of the best.
A blockbuster of verbal whit.
"Wit and verbal dexterity"
Probably in the top 20
no quite the reverse
its the first collection
No that would be too tiring
The best ideas for shows are usually simple. That the show has been running for so long emphasizes how good the idea is.It is truly difficult to keep going even for such a short time on a given subject.I like the daft challenges and the running jokes especially from the regular players. After a hard and dull day at work relax and enjoy! Then a few months later you can come back to it and listen again.
"Just a Minute - This is Brilliant"
Just a Minute features most of my favourite comedians from my childhood to the modern day. The fact that the comedy is off the cuff and delivered at pace makes this a perfect listen to me.
Just a Minute is one of radio 4's best comedies. The nearest you are likely to hear is "I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue" which is good but can be occasionally irritating.
I regularly buy the Just a Minute collections. You are likely to find some of the episodes in some of the earlier collections but for such a large volume of episodes this is well worth using one of your credits for.
Hearing Peter Jones is always a pleasure as he reminds me of Hitchhiker's Guide at its best. His humour is always well timed and perfectly pitched.
