By turns hilarious, heartbreaking and humbling, Undoctored is about what happens when a doctor hangs up his scrubs, but medicine refuses to let go of him. Dolly Jamieson is not homeless, she's merely between permanent abodes. The 78-year-old spends her days keeping warm at the local library, where she enjoys sparring with the officious head librarian and helping herself to the free morning tea. It's not so bad, really. But it's certainly a far cry from the 1960s, when this humble girl from Geelong became an international star of the stage. As the acclaimed lead in the Broadway production of The Rose of France, all Dolly's dreams had come true. So how, in her old age, did she end up here?

The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Editorial reviews
Dumas's sweeping adventure tale of the wrongly imprisoned Edmond Dantés, his transformation into the Count of Monte Cristo, and the long and elaborate course of his revenge on his enemies could certainly be a challenge for audiobook listeners. The intricate plot and dozens of characters require 52 hours in this unabridged production. Fans of the novel will likely appreciate the care taken in the creation of this ambitious production. The recording is crisp and clean, narrator Bill Homewood's pace matches the action well, and the volume is consistent throughout. Homewood invests each character with personality and heart, and throughout the tale his narration remains clear, forceful, and committed.
Publisher's Summary
The Count of Monte Cristo is a tale of revenge and retribution. Edmond Dantes, a young, energetic sailor, is falsely accused of treason on his wedding day and incarcerated in the forbidding Chateau d'If prison. His escape and ultimate revenge on those who wronged him makes this one of the most thrilling stories in French literature, as compelling now as when it was first published in 1846.
