For over 2000 years, these 13 chapters attributed to Sun Tzu have been the Bible, or should have been the Bible for those intending to wage war, or who are waging war. When JFK began the American adventure in Vietnam, although he was very well read, I doubt he had read this missive. Ho Chi Minh however, I am sure was very familiar with it, and don't be surprised that the Taliban is also familiar with the principles contained therein. Leaders as diverse as Mao Zedong, General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Douglas MacArthur and leaders of Imperial Japan have drawn inspiration from the work. When 2 LT Mike Vendetti the narrator ignored the simple principles of this tract, he returned home minus a leg. "Charlie" knew exactly what he was doing.

I've read this book many times before but until listening to someone like the narrator read it, it never really sunk in!
"Succinct - helpful for life lessons"
I will listen to this over and over again until I get it. My husband read it and he says it has helped him with everything.
"A must for all"
It's been over 10 years since I read this for school and now I had a chance to listen to it again. I prefer this to reading it myself. Mike Vendetti did a great job narrating this book. It's a very versatile book that can be applied to many areas of life. Would definitely recommend this audio book to anyone. I got this book free for honest review
"A truck load of broad philosophies"
Has some great one liners, but that doesn't help much on audio
He reads the book well
This book is better designed as a manual and not an audio book
If you like the book of Proverbs in the Bible, you will like this book. But it is better read than listened to.
This is probably my most favorite book .. his teachings can be applied almost anywhere.
"Interesting Catalyst for strategic thinking"
Since I am not a Chinese General, very little of this book was applicable for me personally but it did serve as a catalyst for strategic thinking and for those who participate in the world of M&A occasionally there are a few nuggets of gold hidden in there.
This is a must for anyone that is looking to better understand themselves and how to navigate the world around them. Link this to your moral foundation and you have a machine of purpose and momentum.
"Great lessons for war and explained well"
The contains of this book and both the reader were outstanding. This book was to the point and it gives the opportunity to retain the knowledge you just obtained. I am going to listen to this book again and again.
"Very listenable for pondering application."
I sincerely enjoyed the narrator. I wish he would have researched and practiced the pronunciation of a couple of English words rather than quietly stumbling out a hasty mispronunciation. even so, I'd still recommend this version over others--I enjoyed it that much! Thank you for you service.
"Military strategy applicable to everyday life"
Wise, relevant and concise
His delivery made sense despite the book being somewhat complex in that it is very informative and requires one to pay attention.
May require one to take notes or listen to certain sections more than once to optimize retention of all the points. Otherwise you can just listen and take from it what sticks. Either way is a good listen.
