Boring!

I began to read this book after watching a program where it was recommended by an elderly Englishman whom I hold in high esteem.
Unfortunately after 6 chapters (to give it the benefit of the doubt), I have decided I cannot listen anymore. As a woman in my early 50’s from Australia, I have found it extremely boring. I’m not sure whether it’s the reader, or the story in general. Perhaps this is a case where reading the book might have been better.

Better than the printed book

I read this book 35 years ago and liked it. But it is FAR superior as an audio book. Patience Tomlinson is brilliant. Barbara Pym constantly mocks her narrator, and this is more evident in Ms Tomlinson's cool, upper-crust tones. Well done. Miss Pym would be pleased.
