No amount of training has prepared Jaevid Broadfeather for the front lines of battle. Now facing the true horrors of war, with Luntharda looming on the horizon, Jaevid has begun to question everything he thought about his heritage. The only thing keeping him going is his oath to protect his dragonrider brothers. But in an instant, even that slips through Jaevid's fingers as he steps from the safety of his dragon's saddle into the depths of his mother's wild homeland - the kingdom of the gray elves.
Stranded in Luntharda with his partner, Lieutenant Jace Rordin, Jaevid must finally confront the demons of his own past as he uncovers the truth about a war that began before he was ever born. Armed with a new appreciation for destiny, and flanked by his trusted friends, Jaevid moves to make the final strike against an enemy that has been hiding in plain sight for far too long.
One kingdom's traitor will become the world's last hope.

I love the way the story continues from the other books. the reading is great also.
"good audio story"
fun story easy and entertaining with good characters both human and animal. makes for a good series
"The best book in the series yet!"
This series gets better and better. As Javed joins his new comrades in Emerald Flight, he and his former instructor, now wingman, grow closer as a team, he is faced with his biggest challenge of all.
I can't wait for the next book!
Yet another great book in a wonderful series. I am anxiously awaiting the next adventure.
This series gets better and better. The narrator is quite a good fit for this type of book.
"Another great story in the series..."
This is another great one in the series. the characters are coming together quite nicely.
The voice was ok... Not a Luke Daniels but ok....
"Still a good story, but lacks some execution"
The combination of the readers voice and the writing style take away from what is an interesting plot line. The mental musings of the main character...especially during key decision moments....feel rough, construed, artificial ....but, if you can skip those parts, and listen to the overall tale, its ok. The series connects nicely, and I haven't notice major errors.
The timeline is hard to handle, and in a better constructed book, it would be a key complaint, but here the issues hide with the other dust....along the lines of having to actually think about what the character is learning and the time it took.
In this book, I noticed there are more and more small events, small hurdles, that are handled like the sky is falling. Its a little over dramatic and begins to diminish the overall plot line. Note, its worse when the main character seems to repeat the same mental phrasings.
If you made it to this book in the series, then you might as well spend the credit.(maybe catch it on-sale at some point) Personally, I am going to break from this series for awhile and wait for one of those sales.
This was as good as any of the other 2 books in this series, just wish there were more for me to listen to. The whole storey line captured my attention and wouldn't let go and left me wanting more. Like i said before if you like stories with dragons, magic and adventure this series is for you.
