A brilliantly funny, gripping novel from a born storyteller, The Parent Agency is an epic wish-fulfilment adventure for every child - and for the child in everyone.Barry said, a third time, "I wish I had better parents!" And then suddenly the entire room started to shake. Barry Bennett hates being called Barry. In fact it's number 2 on the list of things he blames his parents for, along with 1) 'being boring' and 3) 'always being tired'.But there is a world, not far from this one, where parents don't have children. That's far too random for something so big and important. In this world, children are allowed to choose their parents. For Barry Bennett, this world seems like a dream come true. Only things turn out to be not quite that simple.

"Really, really good - according to my 11 yr old"
My son is ill and off school, after about 40 mins of "I'm so bored" I put this book on and gave him his headphones. He didn't stir for the whole 3 hours, and really loved it. I really loved the peace and quiet. Win-win.
"It was an amazing book"
I loved the Narrator and I especially loved the story. My favourite bit was when Barry was with the rich parents.

"The parent agency"
Great I love it I'm eleven I think it is brilliant for all ages defo five stars
I like the book a lot and it is funny emotional and clever at the same time things I would never have experienced in my life at the same time. I have listened to slot of books and this book is peaking in at number three after James and the giant peach and Awful Auntie all three pull me in as soon As the first paragraph what would we do without marvellous authors like David Baddiel.
It's a great book and really appealing!
I would recommend this book for 8/12 year olds although the downside is that it contained one swear word:(
