"The medieval world of Redwall Abbey - where gallant mouse warriors triumph over evil invaders - has truly become the stuff of legend." (Seattle Post-Intelligencer)

"Extremely well produced story"
This is more audio drama than just reading of a book. Multiple actors and voices led even more interest to an already well written story. Although a "kids book", our whole family (including teenage boys) enjoyed this as we traveled.
"Amazing story and an amazing series!"
This is an amazing story that is part of this wonderful series. What a treat it is to hear the story told by the author himself. This series is a treasure trove of wonderful adventure, fantasy and fun. I would recommend it for young and old alike!
"My personal favorite of the series"
Not everyone seems to think so, but this one is my favorite for the whole Redwall series. It covers a more serious theme than usual, keeps a lot of humor around it, and has some very heroic moments by different characters.
"Another Fun Episode in the Redwall Series"
The Long Patrol was a fun story to listen to. It has a cast reading the various speaking roles as well as being narrated by the author. It was one of the better books I have listened to recently.
For long-time Redwall fans, this story involved characters from all areas of Mossflower: Hares, otters, shrews, Badgers, and Redwallers. It was a story of coming of age for the main character. It had adventure, celebrations, and the bad guys were really bad but buffoonish. It was later than Redwall in Redwall's timeline, but it had some aspects that went back to the Mossflower story, which was fun because it recalled that book for me.
This is about the 7th Brian Jacque's performance I have listened to. They are all good, and this one was as well.
The Long Patrol: A Coming of Age for a Young Hare
The Redwall books are clever. They are written in a style that is reminiscent of Tolkien, with virtuous heroes, clumsy villains, poems and songs.
I loved every moment of this book, the hares are my favorites and I love their accents
Absolutely loved it. Redwall is my favorite series ever. Rest in Peace Brian Jacques. You are forever in my heart.
"Amazing as always."
One of my top 3 in the series. It covers the adventures of the Long Patrol Hares. Excellent narration, story and action sequences. Highly recommended.
"The best there is! REDWAAAALLLL!!"
This is my FAVORITE of all the Redwall novels and with a full cast and narrated by the author (Brian Jacques) himself, it just doesn't get any better than this! I've listened to the recording four times now and it's like visiting with old friends every time. So come along, sit by the fire in cavern hole and listen to tales of warriors and villians, feasts and friends. The gate is always open to you good and gentle creatures at Redwall Abbey.
This has been my favorite Redwall book ever since first picking it up. Listening to a full cast read the story and sing the songs was like experiencing the story for the first time all over again!
Favorite song: The Long Patrol Anthem
"But the hares o' the Long Patrol, my lads, stout hearts they walk with thee!"
Brian Jacques is always brilliant, and this is on par with the rest of his works.
I have read and followed the Redwall series since I was young. Each book brings you new characters, and old ones too. By reading the series you become part of the characters lives and understand the history behind the magnificent Abbey of Redwall.
The Long Patrol brings you to the life of young Tam. His journey into the famous Long Patrol. New life. New love. Death of friends and Birth of new ones.
As with all books in the Redwall series there are stories to learn for readers both young and old. How to act among friends and how are be amongst enemies.
Listen to the book, you will be hooked. Even better you will not get bored of the stories and will be able to listen to them over and over again.
"One of the best of the Redwall series"
We have listened to many of the Redwall series. This is one of our favourites, lots of irrepressible hares up to bold, fun adventures. It also gives great explanations of the basis of other story lines in other books, such as how Cregor got to Redwall. A great listen
"Brian Jacques does it again"
A gripping story that is both hilarious and tense in turns. There?s plenty of action to keep you hooked from start to finish, and several sub plots to make sure that no matter what you?re never board. A delightful addition to the Chronicles of Redwall.
