Many people assume that effective sales ability demands a unique personality and an aggressive attitude. It's not true, and Robert Herjavec is proof. Known as the "Nice Shark" on ABC's Emmy Award-winning hit show Shark Tank, Robert Herjavec is loved by viewers, who respond to his affable nature. He has developed an honest and genuine approach to life and selling that has set him apart from his cutthroat colleagues and rewarded him with a degree of wealth measured in hundreds of millions of dollars.
In You Don't Have to Be a Shark, Robert transcends pure sales technique and teaches "nonbusiness people" what they need to know in order to sell themselves successfully. We are each our own greatest asset, and in order to achieve our goals, we need to be able to communicate with others, position ourselves, and even look the part. Robert's philosophy is simple: Great salespeople are made, not born, and no one achieves success in life without knowing how to sell.
Entertaining, enlightening, and effective, You Don't Have to Be a Shark will reveal the secrets of one of North America's most successful businessmen, who also happens to be one of today's most prominent TV personalities, delivered in a friendly, down-to-earth manner and filled with anecdotes and observations to support its hard-nosed advice.

"interesting book, rough monotone narration"
I like that Robert Herjavec read it, and like the content... But man, at times he is obviously just reading the words without thinking about them or assembling them into sentences for proper emphasis, tone, or rhythm. He must have done some recording marathons too, because his voice gets pretty rough at a few different points.
Regardless, the meat is interesting and entertaining. I feel it was a worthwhile listen, and will continue to dream of Mr Herjavec investing in my robot company.
"Excellent Content and Smooth Performance"
This shark shares his down to earth sales skills in a fresh perspective. Rather than speaking over your head, he pulls at your heartstrings with personal stories and real life examples.
"Great story but hard to get started"
great story over all with sound advice. I commend Robert for reading his own book but he probably should have had a professional read it. I would tend to disconnect from the story due to the lack of enthusiasm I guess. but overall worth reading!
"insight into entrepreneurial mindset"
I liked the perspective given on selling and the stories/experiences shared.
Positive, helpful, insightful, and motivational.
"Worth Every Penny"
Not only worth the monetary investment, but the time investment as well. Robert has a great voice and insight to being a successful entrepreneur as he has excellent tips in this book that are worth reviewing more than one time. I got through the book in one day and will be going back through it over and over until I absorb all the content and start applying it immediately in my life and business.
"Robert is the man. great views"
I love this book. It's so great that he reads the entire book himself. Thanks
I enjoyed reading this book. There are a lot of great tips in the book, and I love his no nonsense type of straight talk.
"Good book. Listen at 1.5x for best results!"
There is good content here. I appreciate the insight into a great and intelligent person. I enjoyed listening at 1.5x speed.
Thank you for opening up to us. it was really a great read. Good job
"Liked it but..."
I really liked Robert's story and teachings but I found his voice to be a little bit monotone and you can tell he had forced his voice throughout the book because of his raspy voice. My humble opinion is probably he should have had more impact if he only did the prelude and the rest to be narrated by a professional storyteller. Overall it was a good book.
