Originally published in 1910, this audiobook takes the mystery out of the accumulation of wealth and breaks it down into a scientific formula.
Here is an excerpt from the Preface of the audiobook:
This book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached.
It is expected that the listener will take the fundamental statements upon faith, just as he would take statements concerning a law of electrical action if they were promulgated by a Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the statements upon faith, that he will prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation. Every man or woman who does this will certainly get rich; for the science herein applied is an exact science, and failure is impossible...
...In writing this audiobook I have sacrificed all other considerations to plainness and simplicity of style, so that all might understand. The plan of action laid down herein was deduced from the conclusions of philosophy; it has been thoroughly tested, and bears the supreme test of practical experiment: It works...and if you wish to reap the fruits of their philosophies in actual practice, listen to this book and do exactly as it tells you to do.

Have read the book too many times to mention. Tried listening to the 'free' audio versions on YouTube. Finally forked out pennies for a professionaly narrated version - minus the annoying YouTube ads! Love it (and YES The SOGR is working for me just like Wattles insisted it would - because I am working the science in the certain way.)
"A normal narrator would be helpful"
This sounds like a robot... Monotone. It would be lovely to find a reader who is rather normal sounding. You have to get past the weirdness of his voice to get to the message being told.
"great for keeping your mind in the game"
Love this book. I listen to it over and over again. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to adjust their mindset about money and building wealth
Wattles is crazy
no but all books from the turn of the century on motivation or inspiration. Hard to believe this book and "as a man thinketh" were the basis of Napoleon Hill's "Law of Succes"
ok, but honestly this book clearly was hard to work with without laughing. If you want to know where all the ideas of "the Secret" came from read this book.
no, except do not under any circumstances buy this book. look elsewhere!
"I really enjoyed it."
definitely a read for a mature audience. Good fundamental principals of wealth. would recommend it to others.
"please read or listen to this book
this book has given me purpose and ambition like I've never had before. the message is a secret of the universe and a gift to anyone who listens
Great content, and the narration made it an easy listen! Enjoyed it much, I'm about to re-listen.
"I literally try to listen to this book every day."
This book never gets old even though it was written in 1901!!!!! I love it! if you want to change your mindset AND become rich read this and nothing else.
"Great advice, now comes action with gratitude!"
Great principles, now we have to put them in action, maintain the right mindset and be in constant gratitude!
"Live in a Certain Way!"
Nine words,Forty Six letters put in a certain way: Immutably and Simply The Best Book Ever On Advancement!
Couldn't turn it off a very amazing book. a must read for anyone that is looking to do better for themselves,l.
this book is fantastic and I will be reading it again. it has changed my way of thinking and I am already seeing the results just after a few short weeks.
"Awesome narration of an all time great book"
This book is an awesome book and an all time great however you'll not really get what he is saying if you're not at least in the process of spiritual awakening. When you read this book purely from the ego you will not really get the message, even if you think you did. I read it twice previously and thought I understood its contents. But I have been doing some work on spiritual awakening lately with meditation etc. and when I read the book again I was blown away with how different the message was compared to how I saw it before.
Brilliant narrator. I actually had another audible audio version of this book gotten years ago but had to get this one again by Brian Holsopple because of his brilliant narration of another book - As A Man Thinketh.
IMO the book's message only opens up to you after spiritually awakening or when you're at least in the process of spiritual awakening and now able to differentiate your real self from your ego.
"Mindset is key to success in all areas of life"
Great listen with interesting points, just shows how a mindset change alters the way we think and see the world. e.g the concept of becoming rich to fulfil ones potential and give more to others is amazing and a great and positive way to look at it.
This is the one and only tool to get rich. There is no other to be added and would be wicked to take anything away from it.
"disappointed - first book not enjoyed"
voice sounded really robotic.
found it wasn't explained in a way where you engage with them. much prefer the secret and ither law of attraction books. found this really monotone and boring.
"A true guide in business and life"
Wallace makes it throughout this book extremely clear that everyone who can follow the instructions can and will get rich.
Loved it, I will be listening to it daily.it will work for me.
thank you I am truly grateful
Every aspiring entrepreneur should listen to this audiobook, if they want to know what it takes to be successful.
Repetitive, lacking substance, a poor buy. Quasi religious dogma. Totally out dated text; this will not make anybody rich, but they may die of boredom.
