The next step in personal effectiveness, by the acclaimed author of The Accidental Creative and Die Empty.
There has never been a better time to build an audience around your idea or product. But with so many people and companies clamoring for attention, it's also more challenging than ever to do work that deeply resonates with the marketplace and creates true and lasting impact.
According to Todd Henry, the key to standing apart from the noise is to find your unique voice. Those who identify and develop their voices will gain more attention and wield more influence. But first they have to identify what they truly stand for, develop a compelling vision, and become masters of expressing their ideas in whatever media they choose. Henry offers strategies, exercises, and true stories that illustrate the five attributes of resonant work:
Making your work speak is a life-long process of trial, error, and realignment. Henry's audiobook will help listeners build a body of work that resonates deeply and achieves lasting impact.

"Great content, but wished author could have read it."
I have been following Todd's work for a while. I enjoy his podcast and think that I would have enjoyed the book more if he had read it.
The content is very actionable, I will probably buy the book (hard copy) and read it instead of listen to audio again.
"A Book for Growth"
Loved it! Finished in one Day !! It answered questions I've been asking myself for years. A must read.
Its one of the best books I've listened to on Audible
This is a must read book for anyone who creates for a living. It's all about developing your authentic voice. One of my favorite Todd Henry quotes is "Cover bands don't change the world." This book helps you get unstuck in the creative process.
The narrator was good, but not as good as the author.
its just a very eye opening book.
I got so many ideas and sparks for improving my work while listening. Also, I am now inspired to purchase both the ebook and hardcopy versions to better work with the material presented. Definitely worth the time and money. I highly recommend this!
You will definitely get what your looking for even if you don't know what it is
Really thought provoking material. Wish Todd actually read the book though. As a podcast listener I'm used to hearing his thoughts in his voice.
"great book. Practical advice. inspiring"
I'm always looking for a great book give me new insights on better disciplines of things that I can do to make myself better. this book was excellent at helping me structure my day and set up my tasks to focus on what my life is truly about. great book for anyone looking to bring Focus to their life's work
"Excellent work by Todd Henry"
Great work, as always, by Todd Henry. Practical advice on how to find your authentic voice as well as loads of encouragement on why you should.
"MISLEADING TITLE AND AUDIO SAMPLE"
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE THE ACTUAL, LITERAL, SOUND OF YOUR VOICE.
I purchased this book based on the understanding that the book would speak about improving one's actual, literal voice. Not my "voice" in an abstract and metaphorical sense. A better word would be "personal brand" or "professional identity." Since I enjoy self-development audiobooks regardless, I gave it a shot.
Long story short, It is my least favorite book of that category. The ideas put forth are well-organized but not coherent. It's more of a overly verbose collection of advice, concepts, and stories than anything else. It is entirely forgettable and it's definitely a case of quantity over quality. Don't waste your time.
"a worthy listen but not golden"
There are lots of useful strategies and ways of thinking to take from this.
The flow however seemed disjointed and had some conflicting messages in parts.
I'm a critic purely because I'm a big fan of Todd and his first book and podcast and hope this feedback will go towards helping going forward.
I will be going back through this a second time no doubt as it's that sort of book, which is clearly a good sign.
The other thing is that while the narrator is good, he doesn't have the conviction that the man himself has.
perhaps my judgement began from this point! I'll let Todd dissect.
