Lean Six Sigma QuickStart Guide
Running an organization is simple. Running an organization that is effective and efficient and has little waste is another story. At the core of every organization, what defines how it operates on a day-to-day basis are its philosophy and strategy. Not to be overlooked, the theories and strategies deployed by management and reinforced by those who execute the organization's mission ultimately define its success. Process improvement, quality control, and customer satisfaction can simultaneously be managed and improved upon with the implementation of Lean Six Sigma.

You'll understand the fundamentals that form the lean business model so you can incorporate it into your business wheelhouse within hours.

Full Disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The book is clean, to the point and a great introduction to the lean system. It is technical however so I highly recommend having the PDF guide handy to review the various diagrams and bullet lists.
Yes, it's an excellent introduction to lean sigma 6 without any unnecessary pontificating or time wasting fat. Straight to the point and launches directly into what you need to know.
The reader Lucy West is great, and easy to listen to. Clydebank Media seem to be finding some perfect readers for their material. This is my second audiobook from them and I've enjoyed both readers.
No I did it in about 3 readings as there is a lot of technical material to absorb. I listened to it twice through which I would also recommend.
Another top quality product from Clydebank Business, keep up the awesome work guys.
"Excellent Summary of Lean Concepts"
This is an excellent summary of the Lean and Six Sigma (LSS) concepts. For those who are new to these ideas, it should give you a basic idea of the methodology involved.
It will not give you the knowledge to go out and immediately implement the LSS ideas. I don't know if any book would do that. But it will at least better familiarize you with what sort of things are focused on, as well as the terminology and framework behind LSS.
There is some repetition of key-points. Some people might not like that. But, if you're driving in your car and can't give the audio-book your full attention, it's nice, particularly when you think to yourself, "What did the author just say?" (and prepare to rewind). Or maybe that just happens to me? Also, I think that by repeating some key information, it helps with the memorization of these concepts.
In any case, you won't be a LSS Blackbelt when you're done listening to this audio-book. But this audio-book will certainly help you as you begin your journey into the concepts of continuous improvement, which starts with you and, ideally, results in significant improvements in the work place.

"Good Beginners guide"
If you are a beginner to Lean, this would be a good place to start for minimal cost. It is repetative in places, but might help in comprehension
being able to listen to the book while completing other tasks make this a multi tasker's dream.
As a lean practitioner, i personally did not learn anything new in this book, however, for the student or newcomer to lean methodologies, they would get an overall understanding of my lean is so important

"Pithy and pleasant"
Well put together and well narrated. Short enough to be able to listen to twice.
"Lean six sigma"
Among all the audio books that I have expressed error listened to this audio book is definitely in the top 5.
Lucy she has a nice voice to listen to very soothing and easy to understand the messages she is trying to convey.
I have never listened to any of her work
Lean Six Sigma Voyage
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and I am under no obligation to leave a positive review.
"Don't Waste Your Money"
Basically it is 3 hours of "Lean and Six Sigma are so awesome" over and over and over. Never puts any context to it what-so-ever. Keep your money. There are much better books out there.
"A Brief Guide to Six Sigma and Lean"
This audiobook is great if you are looking to gain a basic overview of the concepts of Six Sigma and Lean. The listener will definitely need to download the PDF files that accompany this audiobook in order to make sense of the information provided. The Six Sigma and Lean strategies themselves would need to be learned in a manner beyond the capabilities of an audiobook, however.
I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.
"Easy to understand but very generalized"
The book set covers at a VERY generalized view of Lean Six Sigma. Each book is somewhat repetitive of the other. The company expects you to email them to get the "included" PDF files that illustrates certain points. Also the reader sometimes repeats herself and it should have been fixed in editing.
"A focused survey of the Six Sigma program."
"Full Disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review"
I found this audio book to be a great introduction to the six sigma program. This was essentially as valuable as a weekend six sigma training program. Realistically as a tool this will help you understand the higher ups at your place of employment. On its own you have no tutorials or hands on practice. Without these how much could you actually use this book? Well that depends how much you believe in it.
The companion pdf is necessary. I listened to this book twice. First without the PDF and then again with it. I found close to no use for the book until i sat down and treated the book as if it were a classroom instructor. From this I was able to understand and theoretically apply the concepts of six sigma.
Listen to this book: The real cost is how much time it will take you to review it (one afternoon). Is it as helpful as a full semester course? No. Is it worth the few dollars this book costs? Absolutely. As an entreprenuer I found this book very helpful.
"Quick Introduction to L6S"
Anyone interested in learning six sigma in less than 3 hours should get this book.
There are plenty of books and classes available, but none are this convenient.
She has a great voice. it is easy to follow along.
"good info, well presented"
[Full Disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.]
The information presented is pretty acronym heavy and dense; thankfully you can send an email off to the publisher and get the pdf they mention to help follow along and/or review after listening. I don't work in an environment where the principles of Lean or Six Sigma are typically applied, and I wanted to listen to this mostly just to expand my personal knowledge-base. The guides (there are two in this package) presented the information in a well organized fashion, but that's almost inherent to the systems described. The narrator, Lucy Vest, has a pleasant voice, clearly enunciatated enough to easily understand her on my iPod's "faster" setting for audiobooks, though the information is dense enough that I don't recommend speeding it up.
Points of interest for me:
● I really appreciated the fact that the Lean-Six-Sigma hybrid particularly has been shown to have positive environmental impacts with their emphasis on waste reduction.
● The Kaizen (continuous improvement) philosophy acknowledges the hard-to-measure waste of not using an employee's untapped potential and seeks to facilitate that potential to be realized.
● The flexibility of the systems that were both designed for manufacturing, but have been successfully applied to service industries.
The lone drawback can also be spun as a positive: The repetition between the two guides can be either an irritant or an aid to memory, reinforcing what was previously stated and delving a bit further into what LEAN is by itself.
"informing. good basic grounding and justifications"
enjoy the audio version of this book. didn't receive however the pdf automatically and had to email for support. expected more information on the negativity of this topic within industries. the criticism of these concepts could have been covered more in depth. but generally very impressed with its content.
