"Ancient Jewish Wisdom, Success God's Way"
Stop paying attention to all of those cute/inspirational memes and sayings that are posted all over the internet; they are so much rubbish. Listen to the wisdom handed down to, and through, the Jews. They have the successful history to warrant your attention.
It overwhelmed me to learn about the words and concepts that are not, and have never been, a part of God's language of Hebrew, and therefore are not things that we should be attaining to. For example, there is no word in Hebrew for retirement; God never intended for us to work and work for years so that we could eventually hopefully one day "relax" and do nothing or whatever we want. And there is no Hebrew word for "winning money" (do you lottery players hear that?). The Hebrew language teaches to earn money, not gamble for it or hope to win it. And the ancient Jewish wisdom (a new favorite phrase of mine) tells you how to be successful. It seems ironic, but the book teaches that you can be someone who works for a non-profit organization that helps people, but that you are always trying to get people to donate money ... OR ... you can be someone who is extremely financially successful and help more people in a much bigger way by having the large finances to do so. At one point, the book asks, and discusses, the question: Who has truly helped more people? Mother Teresa, or Bill Gates?
"Solid advise and insights, recommended!"
I would rank this pretty high in both business and bible topics. I'm not Jewish but I still enjoyed his sharing of the many interesting elements of that faith.
Even when I didn't agree with his biblical position, he did such a great job presenting it that I had to respect his viewpoints!
"Was Not Expecting This"
I have to say what I heard was not what I was expecting. What I learned is invaluable. Though mostly viewed from a male perspective it is relative to anyone at all. The lessons are very well founded and I actually took a lot away from this text.
"Best biblical business secrets I've ever heard!"
This audio book is very easy to listen and is full of sound business secrets from the bible that I've ever heard. This is now my new favorite business book.
"This a must read/listen"
Tons of great tips and perspectives. I gained so much insight and knowledge for this book and others by Lapin
"Overall, Five Stars"
Because of the valuable lessons gained from this audio book, the overall rating is a Big FIVE. What could be improved is the narrator- it was good, but I like Rabbi's voice better. Rabbi gives you loads of information you would not expect to learn from a regular business book, but then this no regular book.
"Amazing, Insightful, educatiing!"
yes. I am no- practicing Christian. But I always had similar values to these ones in this book, learned perhaps from my wonderful mom. I cannot thank enough to Rabbi Daniel Lapin for reaffirming them in me and for sharing the most valuable practices for successful business.
no... but it is great
Breakfast with Rabbi
"Good book overall. a bit long, bit good stuff"
struggled through some of it, and author sometimes overuses the term, "Ancient Jewish Wisdom." but overall, good stuff, from a different perspective. makes you think.
"a true fan"
I love the author so much wisdom in this book. powerful. I read it at least once a month to build my faith and my spiritual growth
"Dull and unscriptural"
I am not a Jewish scholar but I do know a lot about the Bible. This was not only dull beyond belief but wasn't even true to the Bible. While the Bible has a great deal to say about finances this book put finances on a pedestal and considered people unspiritual if they don't get all they can. I enjoy my money and I praise God for everything I have but this book was just too far out there. More like a Jewish "Name it and Claim it" book, total garbage.
Powerful and insanely thought provoking as well as practical guidance for absolutely anyone seeking to build phenomenal business relationships. Blown away with rich content, including strong well known business examples and not just Biblical extracts. Crafted as a business book, it delivers that and more. Can't wait to give it another listen!!
Absolutely brilliant, useful, Godly principles that I can't wait to apply in my life. Thank you Rabi Lapin
