Publisher's Summary

To celebrate her 50th birthday and face the challenges of midlife, Jane Christmas joins 14 women to hike the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Despite a psychic's warning of catfights, death, and a sexy, fair-haired man, Christmas soldiers on. After a week of squabbles, the group splinters, and the real adventure begins. In vivid, witty style, she recounts her battles with loneliness, hallucinations of being joined by Steve Martin, as well as picturesque villages and even the fair-haired man. What the Psychic Told the Pilgrim is one trip neither the author nor the listener will forget.

Ughhhh

Doesn't do any research before she leaves - complains about being unprepared for the whole trip.

Nothing, it was a chore!

Don't waste your time or your coin. If I could have given this book a zero-star rating, I would have. Seriously, I do not know how this woman gets out of bed every day. What a whining, pessimistic, down-on-life person she is. Cleaning your toilet after your husband has been on the curry and beers would be more enjoyable than listening to this old Crone. What a journey!

Absolutely loved listening to your story. I hope my Camino in April is as enlightening. Thank you Jane.

A Courageous told ‘ Midlife Misadventure’

Jane writes a confronting account of her interior journey on the Camino. Her blunt, self centred and at times plain spiteful reflections tell the story of a woman much wounded by life.
Jane tells her tale as she sees it, albeit viewed entirely through the fractured lens of past experience.
Unprepared in many ways for her self imposed undertaking to lead a large group of ‘woman of a certain age’ on the Camino Frances, Jane nonetheless gives a frank, honest account of her misadventures.
Being a fellow peregrina, there were times when I could relate to Jane’s experiences and times when I could not. Such is life on Camino.
I both cringed and giggled my way through her tale. I would recommend you have a read.
