"FREAKING AWESOME BOOK - BEST AUDIO BOOK SO FAR"
I really am not sure where to start - this book - the story, the reading, everything about it is freaking amazing!
It's a gritty story of a very tough man. It's a story of a scared young boy and later man facing and conquering his fears. It's a story of a man chasing and realizing his dreams. It's a treatise on fear and adrenalin affects on a person. By the end of the book you just want to freaking meet this guy.
Just get the damn book already and listen to it. It really is that good. And the narrator ROCKED! Best read book I have listened to.
"In the Extreme"
It was very well written and both funny and gruesome. I really enjoy when stories are told like this. It's raw and real with a good dose of humor.
He tells the story like he is Geoff Thompson.
"Understand your fear"
No matter what walk of life we are in we all learn from each other. This life story about a working class doorman and martial artist who confronts and understands fear and forgives
"Well read! Awesome story! Great conclusion!"
The narrator was excellent. He voice pulled me along the whole time I could feel the excitement like I was there. Not that this story needed it. It was a f#%^ing great story. Loved the true life inspiration and personal growth. Hit home!
"Book about personal development, life & violence"
Yes for a refresher on the life lessons and insight to real life violence.
The look at real life violence and how it really occurs.
You just have to love the British accent. Although an British to American dictionary would have been handy a few time :)
Great book. I would really recommend it to young males say 16 to 28 years old. One for the life lessons it offers and two for the insights to real life violence. He shows you the steps that confirmations take on in real life. If you know the steps, you can avoid the dance.
"The thinking man's hard man"
Its honest. The author isn't just a hard man, there's a bit more to him than that. Like most other hard man books, it becomes a bit repetitive ('blah blah blah, so I knocked him out') but he does drop bits in that make him more likeable.
The majority of other hard man books, but with a bit karate in too.
The earlier chapters were almost inspiring when he explains facing up to his fears.
Made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Also made me shake my head in frustration a few times. Some of the 'humour' is scraping the bottom of the barrel. He seems above that kind of 'lad banter' crap earlier in the book. The flip side of that is of course, he is being himself, keeping it honest which is a good quality. I suppose each reader can interpret it their own way.
