Engaging

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it was well written and the narrator was excellent. Weir pays close attention to each wife and gives great detailing about Henry - the book has encouraged me to read other titles by the author.

Most famous wives!

A really interesting history of Henry and his six wives. I was amazed at how much actual correspondence has survived from Tudor times. So intriguing!!

Six wives of Henry VIII - well written and well told

This is now my preferred version of Six Wives of Henry VIII. Holes in contemporary documentary evidence are noted rather than ignored. The writing flows naturally and is refreshingly lacking in the pomposity of written histories of similar titles.

Simon Prebble has the perfect voice for this narration. His diction and expression had my imagination drifting back to the Tudor era.

Intriguing

Fascinating biography of 6 women's approaches to dealing with an all powerful tyrant.

So many fascinating insights into each of the women - particularly enjoyed learning little know facts like Ann B's support of the first English translation of the Bible.

Ultimately, HVIII mania to have a boy led to so much of the trouble. I love the fact that you know the heroine of the story exists before anyone loses their head.

A gr8 book masterfully written and told by two women of our time.

Reading this book makes me wish the world was run by women (again;-).
