'A friend recently told me that the things I write are powerful for her because they have the effect of making her feel angry instead of just empty. I want to do this for all women and young girls - to take the emptiness and numbness they feel about being a girl in this world and turn it into rage and power. I want to teach all of them how to fight like a girl.' (Clementine Ford)
Online sensation, fearless feminist heroine and scourge of trolls and misogynists everywhere, Clementine Ford is a beacon of hope and inspiration to thousands of Australian women and girls. Her incendiary debut, Fight Like a Girl, is an essential manifesto for feminists new, old and soon to be and exposes just how unequal the world continues to be for women. Crucially, it is a call to arms for all women to rediscover the fury that has been suppressed by a society that still considers feminism a threat.
Fight Like a Girl will make you laugh, cry and scream. But above all it will make you demand and fight for a world in which women have real equality and not merely the illusion of it.

This book resonated very strongly with me. Thank you Clementine for being brave enough to write this. This in many many parts has been me. I have been suppressing anger all my life. I no longer feel alone. Thank you. I am sure it will resonate with many others who wonder why they don't fit and why why why the injustice. Everyone should read this book.
Clementine is the most powerful feminist voice of my generation and I will show my love and support for her any chance I get. With each day, and after reading/listening to any of her work I feel stronger to stand up and be heard.
This is the most important book I own and will read/listen to it many times over. Thank you, Clementine!!!
Clementine lays bare her experience of the world as a woman and shares her views with unflinching honesty.
I found my own ideas of what it meant to be a male feminist challenged and that I need to listen more to those who actually know what it's like (women)
Most memorable moment: Women are allowed to be angry.
I enjoyed the line that Clem used from an English movie that went something like: that's the way it should be, you're not a hero for treating your family and wife with respect, equality and dignity.
Well written, performed and I'm looking forward to a follow up in a few years time. Thank you.
Every woman can take something away from this book. It articulates and validates much of my lived experience. Highly recommended.
I loved this book and enjoyed hearing Clementine's honest and heartfelt story told in her own words on her own terms. A truly fabulous, non-academic look at feminist issues that equips women to 'fight back' in a mans world. I can not recommend this book highly enough. I think I will buy a physical copy too to circulate amongst my girl/(and more importantly)boy friends. Ms Forde you are a superstar and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise! FORK them!
Loved the intention, but found the quality of the writing a bit jarring at times. Lots of profanities. It's a weird mix of informal conversational phrases and intense, lecture style commands. I sort of wish I'd actually read this book, I don't think the audio format does the content justice.
Clementine just nails it. A courageous piece of work. Beautifully written and presented, Clementine says the things we often think but don't share with each other for fear that we're the odd one out. This book helped me to realise I'm not alone in suffering the ramifications of living in an overtly misogonistic society where women are told to stop being so sensitive or thin skinned and our stories and experiences are attacked and denied.
As someone currently battling a severe (trauma related) bout of depression, I was particularly moved by the chapter on mental health and Clementine's reminder that no one is alone. The chapter brought me to tears.
I hope Clementine has an opportunity to read all the positive feedback on this book, if only because I hope it goes some way to countering the vile abuse she endures daily for having the courage to speak the truth on behalf of all women.
My only complaint would be that once I'd finished all I could think of was what to do now? I am angry about the way women are treated but I don't know what to do with it.
For those new to feminist thought and for those who have been a part of the movement all their lives.
Well written, well spoken. Funny, and painful in its honesty and reflection of the lives of women everywhere.
Clem, you are one of my heroes.
"Phenomenally heartbreaking and rousing!"
I recommend this book to all women. This eloquently written book has helped me to to find my voice, when for so long I lacked the ability to fully articulate what I felt and experienced in the world. Thank you for all the other Clementines fighting the endless battle for equality while dealing with the deranged spotlight cast on them for doing so.
