Publisher's Summary

Duraid Ai Simmu and his beautiful wife, Royan, were the first to discover the tomb of Queen Lostris and, with it, the scrolls that record the burial of Pharaoh Mamose with all his vast treasure. But as their present-day search for the treasure moves from the Nile to the uplands of Ethiopia, a savage battle begins. For others will stop at nothing to claim the prize as their own.

When Duraid is brutally murdered, Royan seeks refuge in England with eminent archaeologist Nicholas Quenton-Harper. With him she can find the courage to unlock the dreams of an ancient Pharaoh.

    Story
    "what happened to the story?"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

more detail. The details of Taitas riddles were t otally missing. Without these details the story was dull.

Has The Seventh Scroll put you off other books in this genre?

No. The story was too abridged to give it much interest.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Yes

What character would you cut from The Seventh Scroll?

None, I would put more of the characters in.

    Any additional comments?

This story was too abridged. The point of it was totally missing.

    Story
    "A poor facsimilie"
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you haven't read any of Wilbur Smith's work you could well enjoy this attempt to wrestle a novella out of a substantial work.

What was most disappointing about Wilbur Smith’s story?

The original book is a treasure trove of plot, adventure, twists and turns. This abridged version kept only the very simple core plot - nothing else.

How could the performance have been better?

Although I like Mr Fox's acting, his narration seems to lurch between a boy's own adventure and an episode of the Fantastic Five.

    Any additional comments?

    A waste of money

I have read all Wilbur Smith books, and his Egyptian collection is well worth the reading. My favorite is still the Quest..........Well narrated by James Fox easy lisening.
