This collection of stories goes back to Dan “Spider” Shepherd’s SAS days, and the missions that shaped him. From his training in the welsh hills and the jungles of Belize, through to his early missions in Sierra Leone and the Middle East, these nine stories chart his rise through the SAS, and his involvement with the elite Sabre Squadron.
Along with his comrades Jimbo, McKay and Geordie, Spider puts his life on the line on active duty…and sows the seeds of his future career. We even discover how he earned his nickname....

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Needs to be read for what it is, a collection of short stories. Recommend to anyone who like the rest of the series.
"feel like i know dan shepherd personally"
loved every minute lots of short storys which all follow each other so u are never lost
"Publisher rather than author driven?"
Story already know from other books
Lots of repetition about characters between chapters
Chapter 1 and 2 contradict when hero got his spider name
Every chapter ended with publisher sign off for a whole book VVVVV annoying
"A TRUE SENSE OF WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE IN S.A.S"
A real page turner as it were. I was in the Regiment but before middle east and it's as if a log of his work had been written daily. brilliant Book. well narrated too.
"A life in the SAS, Story by Story"
This book takes elements of SAS training and puts a storyline to them.
I like the way that I felt I was there ... almost
Lots - I am a real fan and having run out of Andy McNab books I have now found Paul narrating Stephen Leather. All equally exciting and I think Paul really plays a major part in keeping my interest.
It is a bit long - I do a lot of driving and some of the stories being about 90 minutes the length of each section was ideal.
Keep up the good work Paul - I will keep listening to the books you narrate !
"Great collection of short stories!"
