Story
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place that might sound and smell very much like our own, but which looks completely different. Particularly as it’s carried though space on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown). It plays by different rules. But then, some things are the same everywhere. The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.

Publisher's Summary
Listen to the award-winning, critically acclaimed, multi-million-copy-selling science-fiction phenomenon – adapted into a Netflix Original Series from the creators of Game of Thrones.
1967: Ye Wenjie witnesses Red Guards beat her father to death during China's Cultural Revolution. This singular event will shape not only the rest of her life but also the future of mankind.
Four decades later, Beijing police ask nanotech engineer Wang Miao to infiltrate a secretive cabal of scientists after a spate of inexplicable suicides. Wang's investigation will lead him to a mysterious online game and immerse him in a virtual world ruled by the intractable and unpredictable interaction of its three suns.
This is the Three-Body Problem and it is the key to everything: the key to the scientists' deaths, the key to a conspiracy that spans light-years and the key to the extinction-level threat humanity now faces.

Weak Scifi
Disappointingly weak and unconsidered scifi, incapable of depicting ideas nearly as complex as attempted.
Excellent narration.

The story was unique but mostly uninspiring
One of those stories that leaves you feeling a bit disappointed. Most of it was ok, and clearly very cultural in its interactions, but the only real science aspects came in at the end in a huge flurry.
Bizarre and unique doesn't necessarily make a story good, it sometimes sets up a story to need a really awesome ending, but this story just isn't quite there for me.

Amazing
Very enjoyable and interesting book. The only downside of non Chinese listener is to remember Chinese names of characters so this all make sense so pay attention to it and you will sail though it amazed! Also I think requires some knowledge in basic science.

Wow
A very in depth and incredible story. A story of what might have happened when we received a signal back in the 1970's. Plus the background story of the individuals involved. Without being an idiot, I'll have to listen to it again because the characters names were a bit confusing for an old man ( me), being 71yrs old. A great listen

fantastic book
I've read the physical book and for me, the characters feel much more alive in this audiobook. the narrator does a great job of giving depth to everything mentioned. the only complaint would be due to nearly every character being chinese, it can be hard to differentiate when the narrator says "deng" "sheng" "weng" and the like.
