Publisher's Summary
Intrepid baker and erstwhile investigator Corinna Chapman returns triumphantly in her first adventure in seven years.
Corinna Chapman, baker extraordinaire, talented sleuth, stalwart friend and lover is back!
When a distraught Scottish veteran from Afghanistan is knocked unconscious, waking up to find his beloved ex-service dog missing, Corinna and her lover, Daniel, find themselves inextricably drawn into the machinations of a notorious underworld gang of drug runners.
Corinna and Daniel need to pull together all the strings to find the connections between their wandering Scottish veteran, his kidnapped dog, a student dramatic society that's moved into Corinna's building, burglaries and the threatening notes that begin to mysteriously appear in Corinna's apartment.
Between her forays into danger, there is still time in Corinna's life for tender encounters as the delicious aromas of newly baked breads, muffins and treats waft out of Corinna's bakery, Earthly Delights.

Love the story, pity about the change of narrator
The story is more like the Melbourne prior 2020, I do I I’ve the humour. My only criticism is that I am really not loving the new narrator. This is Australia and not New Zealand - we have very different accents.

Another fun romp through Melbourne
If you've read the other Corina Chapmen books and enjoyed them, then you'll love this latest installment.
These books are relaxing, fun, and easy to read. Good characters and another puzzling mystery to leisurely follow.
This series is great bedtime or holiday reading, or in a year like 2020 when you just want a nice break from the weight of the world.

oh no!
I just started listening to this book. Book 7 in the series and I am so disappointed. It is not narrated by Louise Siversen as all the others have been and instead of feeling like a comfortable friend it feels weird.

Change isn’t always a good thing
A perfectly acceptable performance but why change the reader after six books? None of the characters sounded right. It almost felt like this book didn’t fit in the series.

narrator ruins this ...
anyone who loves these series has come to expect the voices, and characters to be a certain way, while i understand things change, the narrator didn't even attempt to continue on, on the previous 6 books characters now have completely different accents (from Australian to new Zealand in two characters cases) and pronounces many characters names totally wrong. such a let down on an otherwise great story
