A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". Here, author Sam Chan equips everyday Christians who are reluctant and nervous to tell their friends about Jesus with practical, tested ways of sharing their faith in the least awkward ways possible.

Story
An inspiring new perspective on the science versus religion debate. Can science explain everything? Many people think so. Science, and the technologies it has spawned, has delivered so much to the world: Clean water; more food; better healthcare; longer life. And we live in a time of rapid scientific progress that holds enormous promise for many of the problems we face as humankind. So much so, in fact, that many see no need or use for religion and belief systems that offer us answers to the mysteries of our universe. Science has explained it, they assume. Religion is redundant.

Publisher's Summary
For centuries Christians have been tormented by one question above all, "If God is good and all-powerful, why does he allow his creatures to suffer pain?"
C.S. Lewis sets out to disentangle this knotty issue, but wisely adds that in the end no intellectual solution can dispense with the necessity for patience and courage.

A Classic!
I have been an avid reader of Lewis for over 5 decades. His works, whether nonfiction/reflection, fiction or general essays have consistently nurtured my personal faith and spiritual
/philosophical thought.
I read The Problem of Pain many, many years ago, and have dipped into it over the years. Over the past 3 weeks I have listened to this Audible version TWICE - a thoughtful and stirring accompaniment to gardening and home duties.
No doubt I will revisit it again soon.
