Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. Publisher's Summary
Randidly Ghosthound felt lost and alone even before the System transformed the Earth. Before every person had to deal with the sudden presence of levels, skills, monsters, and the very real possibility of death....
Due to unusual circumstances, Randidly starts in an isolated dungeon far beyond his level, forced to rely on the mysterious Traveler Shal in order to learn and survive with the dangerous new status quo for his world.
But survive he does, only to leave the dungeon and discover that while he experienced several hellish months in the dungeon, only half a day passed on Earth. Randidly's capabilities are now more than enough to help build a small enclave of survivors, but that doesn't mean balancing his sense of responsibility against the plots of an unfriendly town will be easy.
And although he doesn’t know it, he needs to prepare. Because the System has sent down a tribulation, which waits in the shadows and monitors his every move....

Great story but the stats explaining gets old
Great story line but explaining the stats gets super old really quick.
By then end of the book it’s 4 minutes of talking about stats. The paperback probably has it in a table but audio sucks for this part.

A great book
This is a great book with a unique idea for progression in the LITRPG style. The MC is well rounded and has a somewhat clear idea of what he wants to do but has doubts along the way. the voices were great and I couldn’t ask for better.
Overall 15/15 give this book a try I’ll definitely be looking for the next in the series.

Pretty Good!
This first book is good, though I dropped the series after the second.
When Earth is integrated into a game-like system of worlds, the titular character is accidentally transported into a high-level dungeon instead of the starting area everyone else is. After a grueling struggle he comes out massively OP and then must work to defend the people around him.
The book is pretty heavy on stats, but ironically they were so thick that audio wasn't too much of a problem - I just skipped 2 or 3 minutes each time the character sheet was read out, super easy.
I occasionally found Randidly's hyper focus on training to get stronger a little boring, but there were enough cool parts to cover for them. Additionally, some character decisions seemed more plot devices than authentic choices that person would make, but again, enough cool things to cover for them. Fights were great, learning about the system was great, the story was interesting.
Randidly does put himself through a lot, basically torturing himself to get stronger - for example, assenting to having acid thrown on himself to build up resistances - and while this wasn't an issue in the first book, for me it did become an issue in the second. It felt like the author was trying to balance out the fast power growth and massively OP stats by saying 'look at the pain and suffering he's gone through to get there,' which ultimately became a bit much.
Still, this first book is worth a listen. By the end of it, you'll know if the second is for you or not.

From the beginning to the end, this book is just a little different to most other LitRPG’s that I’ve read! With a well written and plotted storyline, it was throughly enjoyable to listen too. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Very interesting take on a LitRPG
I liked this as a book and an exercise in world building. And the main character having the name Randidly Ghosthound got an amused reaction from me. I did get rapidly annoyed and the name however when in the beginning it feels like it's said 3 times in every sentence and that there is never any attempt whatsoever to shorten his name to Randy or some other nickname. I can give a pass on it for the other characters in the book as they call and refer to him as Ghosthound, but the irritation definitely drops off a few hours in.

Really enjoyed it - highly recommend.
This book was a bit slow to get into and my only complaints would be the female characters are really one dimensional and often act like children. The main character at time does the same. Also towards the end of the book the point of view switches between characters which I personally found didn’t add much to the story.
With all my minor complaints aside, it was a really enjoyable listen. I love the overpowered main character and really enjoyed the world Norte Flood has created.
Will be waiting for the next one eagerly.
