The wall. Sooner or later we all hit it. The wall can be anything. It could be your lack of motivation, it could be your fear of leaving your comfort zone, it could be the aimlessness that comes from not having set yourself the right goals, it could be that you spend too much time with people who undermine you. What all these things have in common is that they’re holding you back. They’re the things that are stopping you from reaching your true potential, from getting the most you can out of your life.

Story
There are times when life feels like it has you cornered: financial difficulties, relationship issues, work problems, all of the above. Every one of us, at one time or another, will have to face up to the challenges that come our way. And there are two ways of meeting them: negatively, where blame is the answer, where other people are at fault, where you haven’t been treated fairly. Or positively, where you own the situation, learn and grow from it and become a better person at the end of it.

Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The extraordinary No.1 best seller.
Battle Scars tells the story of Jason Fox’s career as an elite operator, from the gunfights, hostage rescues, daring escapes and heroic endeavours that defined his service, to a very different kind of battle that awaited him at home.
After more than two decades of active duty, Foxy was diagnosed with complex PTSD, forcing him to leave the military brotherhood and confront the hard reality of what follows. What happens when you become your own enemy? How do you keep on fighting when life itself no longer feels worth fighting for?
Unflinchingly honest, Battle Scars is a breathtaking account of Special Forces soldiering: a chronicle of operational bravery, and of superhuman courage on and off the battlefield.

A great read!
In this book, Foxy has shared the most vulnerable & darkest times of his life in the hope of helping others. Retelling how hard his journey has been but showing (with help from friends) you need to keep trying to find the solution that’s right for you.
I was intrigued to hear about military life (the Queens eyebrows) & missions.
The books shows us Foxy’s vulnerable side but also his humour & loyalty.
Lots of respect for showing warts (or boils) & all!!!

Not your usual war story
Really enjoyed the book, and his openness to discuss and remove the stigma around mental health. The thoughts and feelings he describes may resonate with many people who may or may not of served themselves. Knowing his accent, proved no issue with his style or tone of narration.

A brave telling. Enjoyed listening to a familiar accent when I live so far from home too. Drank at a few of those bars myself!
An inspiring journey and the innermost struggles of someone who was damaging himself and those around him by not feeling able to open up. A powerful bloke feeling powerless and purposeless. Great story of inner strength, true grit and bravery. Glad he pulled himself back from his own inner hell to tell this story. Thanks
